The Intelsat 38/Azerspace-2 satellite, slated for launch on 7 September with Horizons 3e, carries a Ku-band payload that will provide continuity of service for the Intelsat 12 satellite located at 45 degrees East.
Intelsat 38 will host leading Direct-to-Home television platforms for the fast growing Central and Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific regions and support the growth objectives of our customers in these regions. Intelsat 38 will also provide critical broadband connectivity for corporate network and government services in Africa
Preparations are Underway:
Intelsat 38 was transported from the airport two weeks ago by a convoy comprised of a pilot car, police, safety car and a tools truck, making one stop while en route. The spacecraft was unloaded from its container at the BAF (Final Assembly Building) to the payload processing facility of the Guiana Space Center (CSG). At this location, the satellite will undergo an adapter fit-check and upon successful completion of this test, the spacecraft will then be towed in the CCU-3 (huge environmentally controlled portable high bay) to the S3B complex for electrical testing and fuel loading. Then it’s back to the BAF for combined operations.

சன் டிவி தமிழ்நாட்டில் தனது இரண்டாவது ஜி.ஈ.சி சேனலாக சன் லைப் சேனலை மாற்றுகிறது
சன் குழுமம் சன் Life சேனலை தனது இரண்டாம் பொழுதுபோக்கு சேனலாக மாற்றம் செய்யவுள்ளது. புதுப்பொலிவுடன் சன் லைஃப் சேனல் அக்டோபர் 7ஆம் தேதி முதல் தனது ஒளிபரப்பை தொடங்கவுள்ளது.
சன் டி.வி நெட்வொர்க் தமிழ்நாட்டில் இரண்டாவது ஜி.ஈ.சி என்ற பெயரில் சன் லைப் சேனலை மறுபடியும் நிறுவுவதற்கு திட்டமிட்டு வருகிறது. இது தற்போது கோல்டன் மூவிஸ் தமிழ் திரைப்பட இசைவுடன் ஒரு கிளாசிக் சேனலாக அமைந்துள்ளது. இது ஆரம்பத்தில் சன் டைரக்டில் ஒரு மதிப்புமிக்க துணை சேவையாக தொடங்கப்பட்டது, பின்னர் முழு சேவை சேட்டிலைட் சேனலாக மாற்றப்பட்டது.
Q1FY19 மாநாட்டில் மராத்தி மற்றும் பெங்காலி போன்ற பிற பிராந்திய சந்தைகளில் நுழைவதற்கு TN இல் இரண்டாவது GEC ஐ அறிமுகப்படுத்தும் திட்டத்தை நிறுவனம் வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
மொத்த விற்பனை வருவாயில் தமிழ் சந்தையின் பங்கு முந்தைய 67% முதல் 60% வரை சரிந்தபோது, சன் லைபில் அறிவிப்பு வந்துள்ளது. ஜீ தமிழ், ஸ்டார் விஜய் மற்றும் கலர்ஸ் தமிழ் ஆகியவற்றின் புகழ் வளர்ந்து வருவதன் காரணமாக, தமிழ் GEC சன் டி.வி யின் பங்குக்கு கணிசமான அளவு குறைந்ததால் இரண்டாவது GEC இன் மூலம் தமிழ்நாடு சந்தையில் அதன் இடத்தை தக்கவைக்க முயற்ச்சிக்கிறது.
ஸ்டார் விஜய் பிக் பாஸ் போன்ற உயர்-தரமதிப்பீட்டு நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் போட்டியிடுவதன் காரணமாக பார்வையாளர்களிடையே வீழ்ச்சியடைந்த சந்தை பங்கு மற்றும் இழப்பு குறித்து ஆய்வாளர்கள் கவலை தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் மாதம் 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டில் சன் டிவியின் பார்வையாளர் 44% இலிருந்து 42.4% ஆக குறைந்துவிட்டது, 2018 ஜூன் மாதத்தில் இது 40% ஆக இருந்தது.
ஜூன் 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டு எம்கே குளோபல் புள்ளிவிவரப்படி தெரிவிக்கையில், சன் டி.வி 17 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஜீ தமிழ் மூலம் 6-7% பங்கை இழந்தது, FY18 இல் ஜீ தமிழ் மற்றும் ஸ்டார் விஜய் இருவருக்கும் 10% இழந்தது.

Star India after the success of its regional sports channels is geared up to launch a multi-language sports channel – Star Sports 3. The launch is reportedly slated for September 15.
Star Sports 3 will replace Channel V in India. The broadcaster has already published a notice to this effect that Channel V will cease to exist from the midnight on the intervening night of September 14 and 15.
Star Sports 3 will initially start with the broadcast of the Indian Super League Hindi feed. However, the channel is conceptualised to provide the local language audio feed in different States. Regional languages like Kannada in Karnataka, Malayalam in Kerala, Telugu in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, and Marathi in Maharashtra/Goa are being targeted for the first phase of this unique experiment for sports broadcast in the country.
Star Sports had in the past made extremely successful experiments for sports broadcast with regional language feeds on different channels. The Indian Premier League knockout games this year were broadcast in eight languages over 17 different screens.
The broadcaster has got the ministry of information and broadcasting’s (MIB) approval to launch Star Sports 3 in place of Channel V, which is going to shut down, has reported.
“Star Sports 3 will be a multi-lingual channel offering popular content. Star is testing the market through this channel,” has reported quoting a source close to the development.
However, in spite of this multi-language channel, Star Sports is also going ahead with its plans to launch regional sports channels in Kannada, Bengali, Malayalam, and Telugu.
